Connecticut
Dog Bite Law
Connecticut dog bite law makes someone who owns or keeps a
dog strictly liable for injuries caused by
the dog. This
means that to win a personal injury dog bite case, it is
not necessary to prove that the dog attack occurred because
the owner or keeper was careless or negligent.
As long as the victim of the dog bite was not teasing, tormenting or
abusing the dog, or had not entered private property
intending to cause harm, the keeper or owner of the dog is
responsible for the dog attack. This is true even
if the dog had never previously shown any dangerous
behavior and the dog attack was totally unexpected and
unprovoked.
